Here we go guys and gals,as usual:)
* Carl talks with Andrea about how much more stuff he has while packing for Hilltop.He says it weird that he actually has more than one bags worth now. Andrea keeps saying he doesnt have to take it all as he may be back with a family of his own one day.
*Negan comments how having his shit taken away in a bucket is the worse part of his day but also his favourite as Rick is the one doing it. He tells Rick not to scold Carl for coming to visit him and that he and Carl are "friends". Negan then tells Rick that he hears "creaking" and guesses they have built a windmill. Rick tells Negan that they have moved on without him just like he said they would. Negan tells Rick that "he is just getting everything ready for him".
*Carl gives his friend a carving of a horse and the boy promises Carl a red jumper when he returns next.The boy then says that Anna is looking for Carl.
*On leaving the jail,Rick bumps into Magna who is passing by. She says that all the buildng looks the same and she cant tell which ones are houses. Rick tells her that this is the jail and that while people who break the rules do get jailed for a time,they only have one inmate at present-a lifer-who she can meet if she wants to when Rick gets back from Hilltop. Rick walks off and Magna shoots him a angry/suspicious look..
*Rick and Carl saddle up the cart and say their goodbyes before the trek to Hilltop.Anna gives Carl a letter. As they begin their journey on the road,Rick teases Carl and asks him if its a love letter he was given. Carl gets embarressed and tells his Dad to stop it.
*While on the road,they pass various patrols on horseback working for the safe zones-these people obviously keep the main supply routes and roads clear of the dead. Rick and Carl stop for a lunch break when a few roamers come out of the woods. Rick tells Carl to grab his gun but not to fire it unless it is needed. Rick then grabs his hatchet and gets to work.
*Its obvious Rick is rusty and hasnt done this in awhile. While he manage to dispatch one or two,its clear that his bum leg and pros ethic arm are not helping him.Carl has to end up shooting the remaining few after one nearly bites Rick from behind.A rider on Horseback clad in Riot armour approaches them.
*The rider dismounts and apologises as this route was clear when he passed through 5 minutes previous. When he realises its Rick-he apologises even more.Rick looks pissed off and tells him to dismount. Suddenly,Rick then starts beating on the guy with his walking cane,hitting him over his helmet and all over when he curls up into a ball on the floor. (Major gripe,Rick looks like an old man in this artwork,not a guy in his early to mid 30s)
*Rick the asks him where he is from and the rider says he is from The Kingdom. Rick screams at him that others would be greatful for this job and that he is messing everything up by not doing it properly as this is the main supply route. He tells the man (called Benjamin) that this will be reported and he hopes this is the mans first incident. Benjamin tells him it is and will be his last incident as Rick and Carl get back in the cart. (Rick is a MAJOR dick here)
*Elsewhere,two characters ride a horse across a field.One apears very sick or hurt.They are the two guys from issue 30's cover.The sick passenger (Ken) falls off the back after saying he can't go on and the rider,known as Marco,gets off to help him.They talk when the horse gallops off suddenly,so they carry on by foot,Marco supporting his friend. They are in uncharted territory and Ken says that they can't linger-maybe they can catch up with the horse? Marco says "You hear that Ken,we gotta keep moving?" to which Ken replies "What is it?What do you hear?"
*They begin walking down a path through some woods,roamers gradually gathering and following them as Marco supports Ken.He asks Marco again what he hears,but he tells him to just keep moving.
*Magna and her two male comrades break into the jail without being seen.They sneak down stairs via candle light and Magna states that Rick wanted to apear transparent about the prisoner when they spoke earlier-Magna says something doesnt add up and she aims to find what they are hiding...
*Negan grabs the bars of his cell-looking frantic and terrified-screaming that they have to rescue him from these horrible people and that Ricks group are animals! Magna and her group look very shocked and scared at the sight of this mad man-End
