It's on tonight!
I'll be posting about it t'morrow morning. Enjoy the show guys.
Just finished watching EPISODE 10
good intro, with BETH narrating. There's a sense of irony as she elaborates in her diary on her/the group's sense of security at the prison, now looking back at events which pushed them from the prison. We have Darryl and Beth running away from some walkers. Somehow Beth looks much more bad-ass, rather than the 'girl next door' persona she's had since season 2. Daryl saves her a couple times, and they take a break in an open field after running for their lives.
We quickly learn in the opening scene that BETH and DARYL (while they rest by a small fire), 'may' be the only survivors (which we know they're not), but they've clearly been separated from the rest of the group. Daryl is being cold again. The two head into the forest to try and track anyone (beth is rather zealous about it). Daryl seems to go along 'cause she just leaves. I'm guessing he feels the need to protect her. Beth is way overly optimistic about their goal/mission. Daryl is kinda hangin' back and reserved. Than a walker comes out of no where and Beth pretty much lets it grab her and struggles around until Daryl saves the day...again! Beth, grow a pair and stop being a defenseless lil girl. frig!
The two come across a rail road track where three zombies are chowin' down on som'n. Once Daryl takes care of them, there is no actual evidence confirming who these people are. Beth starts to have a break down (she has a pretty horrible cry face). Daryl begins walking away, but then stops turning back to Beth, then the two share a tiny fire.
Now, we're with the little kids from WOODBURY/PRISON (the ones who Carol was mentoring), Lizzy and Mika?, who are walking with Tyreese and JUDITH. They stop for a bit at night time, Judy starts crying which draws unwanted attention. They keep going and find a grape vine (no relation to the California Raisins) and chow down a lil. Tyreese changes a diaper while Judith cries (baby's do that).
Here's my first inconsistency with this episode; Mika gets scared when she hears a sound in the forest/bushes and grabs/claws Tyreese's arm (which has been injured somehow, he was wrapping it up). He yelps in pain, which makes MIKA run away. Lizzy and Tye chase her, and find her, and Tye is holding Judith using the arm which is apparently in pain. He can't handle a hit/grab by a little girl, but he can handle the weight of a baby on the arm? Tyreese steps on some grapes (which Daryl and Beth saw earlier in the episode), connecting the dots about what happened.
LIZZY is such a pessimist complainer!
Tyreese runs off to help someone who was screaming leaving JUDITH with the girls and finds himself at the train tracks, and we now learn what Daryl and Beth saw and how it happened. Meanwhile, Lizzy is apparently trying to suffocate JUDITH to stop her from crying. I now dislike LIZZY even more. Walkers appear, MIKA misses a gun shot. Tyreese fights off the dead while everyone he was trying to save gets bit. LIZZY and MIKA look like they're about to get over-taken by two walkers as Tyreese finishes the last zombie, then CAROL calls out to him (she has saved the girls). I actually didn't see that coming.
The only survivor of this little group suggests tyreese and carol take the train tracks to a 'safe place'. On the road, Carol makes an excuse about where she's been the whole time, (she says Rick left early from scavenging, she stayed back, but got back to the prison too late). They find a sign;
"Sanctuary for all, community for all.
Those who arrive, survive"
- TERMINUS
And now we're with MAGGIE, SASHA and co.
Maggie is sharpening her knife on a rock (I thought that would dull the knife). Maggie doesn't know where GLENN is, she's leavin on her own to find him. The other two go with her. They come across a bus, Maggie certainly looks upset and on the verge of tears. The bus is full of zombies. Glenn isn't in there!
They decide to open up the door and let the zombies out one at a time (reminds me of a certain attempt at a prison with inmates that didn't go so well.) Things go well at first, then bam, the door blasts open and they pour out. Maggie scans each face as they come into the light, and one by one, they're each taken out. And now they have a bus! (hope there's gas in it). Maggie goes inside to check things out. She finds a zombie (who looks like Glenn), but she can't see his face. She kill it, and we see her reaction (at first crying...as though she saw Glenn and killed him), but then turns into a laugh.
Anyone who's seen the preview for this episode knows he's alive, and that's much more satisfying when suddenly BAM, we see Glenn.
He's pulling a MILA JONOVICH - Resident Evil, hanging on a ledge barely out of arms reach of zombies. He's still at the prison. ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE!
Glenn enters the door behind him (his only other option for survival was an attempt at a large jump which if he missed...he'd be done!). After a couple hallways he finds himself back in the ol' wing where everyone slept, but it's empty (and filled with smoke). And SCORE, he finds some RIOT gear! He lies down, then sees a picture of MAGGIE, which inspires him to not give up. He runs around gathering stuff and heads out, looking badass in the gear!
He does the crazy thing and tries to run through the mess of dead. They cover him quickly, and he breaks free. Well done glenn! Glenn finds one of the WOODBURY survivors (can't remember her name), and sets off a MOLOTOV cocktail and blasts it on a car to distract the dead. The two escape, and more and more dead pour into the prison. Glenn finds himself on the same stomping grounds as previous groups. Glenn says he is going to find maggie, then a small group of walkers appear. Glenn passes out while the chick finishes off the other walkers. Suddenly a giant military truck appears. and ABRAHAM appears! Good intro ABE!
Great episode over-all LOTS of action, LOTS of suspense. I really enjoy that everyone is separated. I know they'll all meet up eventually, somehow, but for now, it's awesome. I can see how the remaining episodes of this season connect everyone up (possibly to Alexandria or is that too soon?)
Season 4 Episode 10 get a 9.5/10 from me!
