Season 4 Episode 9

Enjoy your show guys! I hope it brings much entertainment.

Awesome opening with Michonne at the prison, and Hershel's head.

Then we're with Rick and Carl. It's pretty clear Carl isn't happy with Rick. But, Carl is really annoying me. He's acting like a jerk! Rick looks like he could trip over a twig and fall over and die from the fall.

Michonne finds rick and carl's tracks, and skips past them (audience likely wants her to follow them, but she doesn't.

Rick and Carl find a house where Carl continues being a jerk. He needs a mega near death experience to humble him.

Then we're at MICHONNE, looking at a scene pre-zombie which gets messed up pretty quick.

And we're back to Carl. Rick is totally passed out (he needed sleep). Carl gets a bite to eat, then checks on Rick (who seems dead). Carl tries pretty hard to wake him up, but ends up getting unwanted attention from dead outside. So, we go to the preview for this series where Cal is leading them away from the house.

big pointer here; I STILL think Carl didn't need to keep verbally egg them on. "come on, keep up, lets go, that's it". They'd follow you without the narration. Why is carl walking backwards? There's a higher chance of him falling over. Turn yerself around and walk fast. And the COMIC does the episode justice; Carl gets caught by another walker, suddenly there are three of them. He shoots them, one by one, and they all start falling on him. Decent suspense over all, and he wiggles himself out, and barfs out the cereal he just ate. LET THAT BE A LESSON TO YOU CARL!

Carl takes a walk and is intrigued with the silence and lack of people everywhere (as though the last year or so didn't make a difference, where there's no one on the road).

Now back to Michonne as she walks about invisibly with a mob of dead.

Back to Carl, talking himself up to sleeping (looking dead) Rick. Show follows the comic pretty much exactly, Carl screaming/venting at Rick and all the errors Rick made. Carl feels like a super star, feeling like he can handle himself without Rick.

Carl takes another walk (why do all these houses look the exact same?). He uses a solar powered light as a weapon. And the best part of the episode, he tries to break down a door...and it kicks his ass back to the ground! DOOR WINS!

Carl keeps searching the house, and in typical horror fashion, he checks out a couple rooms which have nothing, and the third room has a zombie and MUSIC GETS REAL LOUD AND THERE'S YELLING AND SCREAMING, and just as you wonder if Carl's gun has a bullet limit, he runs out of bullets, and he's fighting off the walker with various house hold objects, and almost gets bit in the leg, and then locks the zombie in the room. Good try Carl, yer still a stupid kid. Carl loses a shoe (that would be uncomfortable to walk). I'd get a better weapon, kill it, and get my shoe back.

Back to Michonne, and the group of dead. And now, the BEST part of the episode, MICHONNE goes all ape sh!t on the hoard and kills them all. Too bad that scene wasn't double in length, it was awesome. Great zombie action. She goes back to the foot prints and follows them (and the audience cheers knowing she'll find Rick and Carl soon. ...well, I cheered).

Rick starts to wake up, making groans and such, he sounds like he's waking up as a zombie. Carl starts crying his lil baby eyes out, about to shoot rick. Carl apologizes, and Rick gets a few words out, before passing out again, "carl, don't go outside, stay safe". And Carl turns into a pussy telling sleeping rick he's scared.

To michonne, she starts visiting places Rick and Carl were at the beginning of the episode (she's getting closer to them). Now, Michonne is doing COMIC justice, and starts talking to herself.

back to Rick and Carl. Rick expresses his dissatisfaction for Carl leaving, but is glad Carl is safe.

Michonne finds the can of chocolate Carl was eating, on the ground (way to continue to destroy the already hurt environment Carl. Michonne finds Rick and Carl through the window. She knocks on the door, getting their attention, Rick sees her through the door, and with a smile, says to Carl; "it's for you".

Great episode. I enjoy the new-ness of it. Exploring new things/places/experiences. I hope Carl will humble the FUG up! While this episode was Carl, Rick and Michonne based, it looks like Episode 10 will focus on the rest of the group (I actually though BETH would have been killed by now...but maybe she redeems herself).

Overall, I'd give this episode a solid 7/10
Giving a .5 bonus mark for some of the cool scenes (michonne massacring zombies, some of the slightly cheesy and predictable suspense moments with Carl, but it was still good). And over-all joy of having the show back on for another few weeks.
