I actually cried when Herschel got killed-he was so much better in the show than the comic, and thats saying something. When Rick was fighting the Governor I actually screamed out loud "Fucking kill him Rick,Kill the batsard!" haha

I've enjoyed this season quite a bit, even with its flaws. I'm fine with Daryl now, too. My only irk with him is that his existence in the show totally devalues Tyreese -the real #2. My only complaints about this episode: The zombie shield - if alcoholic guy gets an exit wound, then so should decomposing zombie shield. The gun fight - magic bullets ridiculously missing Team Grimes, folks firing ARs through a chain link fence from six feet away (there'd be sparks, busted fence, ricochets, etc.) Other than that, all good fun. And to think AMC cancelled The Killing (a far superior show) for a TWD spin-off. That's what folks should be raging about.

I know I'm late to this party… been swamped at work and home, my grandma passed, and it's just generally been a busy and shitty last couple weeks for me… but figured I'd chime in on this anyways.
I enjoyed the episode, but there were a few really lame parts that tried hard to ruin it for me. Going into the episode, I thought they were going to do the midseason cliffhanger when the Gov's group rolled up to the gates. Figured for sure Kirkman was going to do the prison attack, but that was wrong. Looks like he's doing the Rick almost dying in the house episode instead of what I thought. At first I thought "what a waste" to have the mirror episode be one that's just a transitional episode, but then I remembered the first mirror episode (pilot) was a stage setter, so it seems well and good to have the next mirror episode be the same kind.
Things I liked:
That little girl getting a headshot on Tara's love interest. I did a Hell Yeah when that happened. Didn't expect it; thought the kids were going to get themselves killed when they decided they were going to find guns and be proactive protecting themselves.
Hershel's death, which was sad, but done well.
Michone. Always Michone.
Things I didn't like:
Daryl's zombie shield. That was stupid as hell; no way that rotter's stopping bullets.
Rick and the Gov's fight. It was just awkward and lame. It also bugged me that Rick was hiding behind the overturned vehicle, and all the attackers went right past him, knowing he was hiding there, and didn't try to kill him.
Lilly's daughter dying and her showing up with the body right when the crap started hitting the fan, and the Gov shooting her in the head. That whole bit felt forced to me.

It was the weakest episode of the season so far, in my opinion. Just too many things that threw me off as I was watching the episode. I don't think it was bad but I don't think it was good compared to the other episodes of the seasons. I thought is was okay by itself.
There were plotholes I caught, mind you, I'm not the type of person to nit pick stuff from shows/movies. I did notice this stuff while I was watching the episode.
Besides the Daryl shield thing, I was wondering why he didn't use the grenades when the govs group was in the grass field. He could have ended the fight right then by chucking them. In the comic, Hershel's son(or Glenn, can't remember) just thew all of them and killed a lot of guys and disabled some of their cars from a long distance. I'm not trying to say the comic is better because of that, I'm saying at least they addressed that.
After the gov slashed Hershel, I was also wondering why the gov forgot about Michonne, the person he hates the most. I couldn't tell if he really wanted the prison but they were blowing it up and dropping like flies or if he wanted revenge but he totally forgot about Michonne.
