I'll be adding to this for awhile. Lots of things to go in here.
Well I'll start with a piece I just got on Monday, from a seller that had no idea what he was selling.
The seller listed this on ebay as a limited numbered print, number 6 of 30. This is what he based it on.
So I look at that and say to myself, "why does it say 1st proof?" Why personalized to "Patti" So I do some digging and find out that Violator #3 came out in July of 1995. And one of the colorist working on the issue for Olyoptics, was a lady by the name of Patti Stratton Jordan. So what we have here is the 1st color proof of page 12 of issue 3 of the Violator mini series, given to the colorist on June 30th. I LOVE IT!!!!! It's 11X17, vibrant colors, a bit beat up and it's even been folded in the past. I don't care. This may be the only one in existence. And it looks so good.
closer view
What makes even cooler for me, is that I have Greg's OA for page 13 of the issue. Vio ripping his brothers head off. So the two together
cost me $32.50 DLVD
Next up is an 11X17 piece from East of West artist Nick Dragotta. He had these at SDCC 2013. Just love the perspective on this.
How about The Manhattan Projects and Nick Pitarra. Both 11X17
First off, the whole gang in all the gory splendor.
and this one just makes me laugh
Next, Fiona Staples and Saga
Each is 11X17 and limited to 300. She debut this at ECCC 2013. They are also signed by her.
Sorry to say the pics do not do them justice. The colors are so much more vibrant then the pics.
Issue 4 cover art
Issue 7 cover art
Issue 8 cover art
Issue 9 cover art
Issue 12 cover art
Then in Nov of 2013 she did a signing in London. Also did a signed and numbered print of Lying Cat. I think someone just had a snack. 44/100. Just love this piece to death, the colors are fantastic and the stock that this is printed on is some high quality shit. It's 11.25X16.25
Well, let us see, what next, how about some original art. Need some more Spawn
This next piece is from Tony Daniels and Kevin Conrad. This is a promo piece that they did to advertise their coming on Spawn to help Todd and Greg get caught up. I have yet to find the finished product. Think it was in previews in 95 or 96. Just don't know. But it is just awesome for an old school Spawn fan like myself. 11X17
Next is a double splash page from Phillip Tan, 22X17. Spawn (Al Simmons) destroying Earth, so he could overcome God and Satan.
That page is important for the next piece. With the next one, we were told that Spawn figured out how to do, what he did, from destroying Earth. What did he do?
He committed suicide. Whilce Portacio pencils, 11X17
How about some Rob Guillory from Chew. This is 9X12 sketch he did back before Chew was big. Love how it seems the finger is giving Tony the finger.
Poyo, need I say more? 9X12 Someone had Rob do this for them at SDCC 2012 and promptly sold it to me for $60. This piece is mixed media, it even has texture. Have to believe they spent more then I paid.
Something from Greg Capullo. I so loved this when it was shown, just does something for me. Well, my now ex-wife, took the art in to a print shop, had it blown up to 20X24 and then framed.
Way back in 1992, Stan Lee did a series of videos called, Comic Book Greats. This is a poster advertising the series. Signed by Stan Lee, Rob Liefeld and Todd McFarlane. Would love to get Sergio Aragones sig, but he rarely comes to the states anymore. The poster is in perfect shape and it cost me all of $25 dlvd
That's enough for now, don't want to kill Zombiehero. Remember, if it lasts more than 4 hours, go to the hospital.
Hope you all enjoy and much more to come. Just going to do it in waves.
